Fat Hen Farm

Fat Hen Farm is a community farm situated on the outskirts of the beautiful village of Great Gransden, Cambridgeshire. We work in harmony with nature, to provide vegetable boxes for the local area. Whilst providing opportunities for the community to learn, grow, share and support each other. We only use natural methods on our farm and encourage wildlife. This has created a truly magical and peaceful environment, giving visitors plenty of opportunity to immerse themselves in nature.

The land itself is a mix of open spaces, young woodland, market garden style veggie beds, ponds. With secret tunnels weaving throughout and we also keep some animals that love to have visitors! Especially our famous turkey King Ragnar!

Weddings

We can help you create a unique and stunning backdrop to your special day. Set in the beautiful surroundings of our farm, a day full of special moments to be remembered.

Our farm is an outdoor venue. We have a 6x12m marquee and a 10m teepee that is available to hire from May to September. Perfect for a festival or Boho style wedding.

With plenty of space for food vendors, a bar, and a dance area. And we even have a stage for live music and we allow camping.

We can provide as much or as little help as you need. With lots of experience in wedding planning from the chilled event to the quirky. And we can create bespoke options personalised to your needs. We have trusted suppliers that we can recommend. Or you can treat it as a blank canvas and pick your own.

Camping, camping parties, hen and stag do’s

Come and pitch your own tent at various locations on the farm. Or leave yours at home and hire one of our bell tents.

Our bell tent hire comes with

• A cosy fire pit
• Fairy lights
• Double air bed with bedding that sleeps two.
• Also including table and chairs, a cooler for your food, and a gas stove with tea station.

We have 4 bell tents available for hire.

And we offer various activities that can be booked in advance. Like

• Wild food foraging and
• Feast walks,
• Flower crown making,
• Herb and nature crafting,
• Women’s circles,
• Drum circles,
• Yoga and meditation classes,
• As well as holistic treatments like massage and reiki. 

We have BBQs and wood fired pizza ovens you can hire to use. Or sit back and we can cook for you! You can also buy eggs and other fresh produce directly from the farm!

Fat Hen Farm is situated on the outskirts of a beautiful small quiet countryside village called Great Gransden.

Located about 15 miles from the centre of Cambridge and 20 miles from the centre of Bedford. Making it very easy to get to us by car.

We are 10 minutes away from Paus. A wonderful place to relax, featuring outdoor wood fired sauna and hot tubs on the hilltop. It also has a cafe which serves food grown on site in their kitchen garden.
