Cambridge Riverside

Cambridge Riverside Events; a secret garden in the centre of Cambridge. A small private “country park” in the middle of this historic university town. With private river frontage and views across at the unchanged common landscape for hundreds of years.

Cows still graze in the centre of Cambridge by the river. Here you can sit and sip champagne, mocktails or delicious coffee whilst watching the rowers, swans, the cows beyond. As well as the world go by! Tranquility at it’s best.

Catering

We have links to local famous eateries and can order you Chelsea buns or picnic hampers from Fitzbillies should you wish to have a top notch cream or afternoon tea to be waiting on arrival. For larger events, caterers can be arranged.

For a day event – such as an afternoon tea we would plan to have boats ready to take you back into Cambridge any time from 6-8pm. If you wished your event to carry on longer or were planning on a dinner event then the last boats would be leaving by 11pm.

Wedding Blessings at Cambridge Riverside Events

We also have a chapel “folly” on site where you are welcome to have photographs taken or receive a blessing. We have various options and packages which can include a sung blessing composed by our resident harpist who recently wrote and performed a blessing for the NHS on Songs of Praise.

Our Resident Harpist

Sophia Abraham’s is a young Irish harpist, who as well as singing everything from Christmas to summer ballads Irish and English and beyond, also teaches and sells harps and harp related items. The perfect accompanist for any event from weddings, to corporate function, birthdays to anniversaries. 

Decoration

We have experience in sorting and sourcing decorations and theming. Working around your requirements and budget.

Green & Carbon Neutral

We pride ourselves on being as green as possible and we have a list of trusted local suppliers from photographers to florists, catering to marquee hire.

Event Planning

We have our own wedding planner and events organiser on site who has over a decade of experience in working in the hospitality industry hosting all types of events from art openings to weddings,  book launches to television shoots.  Helping you create your ideal wedding or event.

Travel

Boat transport – By arriving with our local boat company you are helping the local environment remain as carbon neutral as possible and the local economy too. Two of the boats in the fleet we use are now totally electric and one is also powered almost entirely by Solar power. And we are a venue that boats private moorings. Which for a fee can be included, if someone wishes to moor their boat here. 

Less than ten minutes from the centre of Historic Cambridge and links to London on high speed Trains are frequent. Coming by car there is also park and ride into Cambridge from the M11 J13 and car parks in the city centre including one by the Maypole pub which is close to Jesus lock. Where the boat will be waiting to take you to our grounds.

Our access by ‘river only’ allows you to experience the full charm of this ancient space. By using river transport you are arriving in the most modern and old of ways.
